Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science Library

DAMSL: Digital Atlas of Marine Species & Locations

The DAMSL database features over 5,000 underwater images of marine species from around the world. The project is a collaboration between photographer Myron Wang and the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.

Studies in Tropical Oceanography

This monographic-series is a University of Miami, Institute of Marine Science Publication. The first volume was published in 1963 by IMS faculty, Don P. De Sylva (1929-2004). Volume 11 contains the results from the Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. Argosy Expedition to Ecuador.

Caribbean Writers Summer Institute

Video recordings of the Caribbean Writers Summer Institute, hosted by the University of Miami English Department for five weeks each summer from 1991 through 1996.

Swingle Plant Digital Archive

The Swingle Plant Anatomy Digital Archive features an historical collection of over 1,700 images from more than 250 species of plants collected from all over the world. The images are digitized micrographs of parts of plants that were sectioned, stained, and permanently mounted to a glass slide.

Earl W. Sutherland, Jr. Research Notebooks

Earl W. Sutherland, Jr., M.D. (1915-1974) was a pioneering American pharmacologist and physiologist who isolated cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cyclic AMP) in 1956. His research notebooks track of the details of his Nobel prize winning research between 1946 and 1971, and include biographical and bibliographical information, as well as Dr. Sutherland's Nobel prize lecture.
