PAN AMERICAN WORLD AIRWAYS
EXECUTIVE SYSTEM MEMORANDUM NO. 09/81
This Memorandum will cancel all prior policy statements regarding
employment and reassignment of personnel on Technical Assistance
Programs or Subsidiary Company assignments.
Effective this date, employees electing to accept assignments with
a subsidiary company or with a Technical Assistance Program will,
upon satisfactory completion of such assignment, be offered vacant
positions in the airline for which they are qualified, in any department,
or separated, as appropriate. While every effort will be made to place
these employees, the employees1 releasing departments within the airline
will no longer be responsible for any action beyond a good faith effort to
place the returning employee.
This change in policy is in no way intended to undermine the importance
of these assignments to Pan Am, but rather is required to clarify the
airline responsibility and handling of such employees in view of our
reductions of management personnel.
The Vice President - Personnel shall be responsible for the administration of the policy.
