SPARE PARTS KIT
Services of Supply is at present overhauling the standard spare part communications kit list for all classes of line stations. This is necessary due to changes in part numbers on some items due to various purchasing reasons.
The contents of the kit however will remain unchanged and maintenance of your equipment will not be affected in any way.
One thing we wish to note. In some cases l/2 watt fixed resistors have been replaced by 1 watt units of the same value. The difference in physical size is negligible to ground equipment. However reliability is expected to be somewhat improved. Future plans indicate all l/2 watt resistors will be handled in this manner.
New kit list books will be furnished to you soon incorporating the above revisions. However, please do not replace existing 1/2 watt resistors in your kit by reordering. As these l/2 watt resistors are used up, they will be automatically replaced as E.S.P.K. requisitions are placed.
EQUIPMENT HANDLING
Recently some equipment was dismantled at one of our stations and sent to another station for installation. In the process of removal and separation of the units for shipping, the interconnecting cables and wiring were cut with pliers apparently without regard for reinstallation problems of complete rewiring thus created. Vihenever equipment is discontinued, it is everyone’s duty to avoid complicating future usage by preservation of the existing installation insofar as possible.
