GROUND RADIO BULLETIN NO. 26 - SEPTEMBER 8, 1950 COMMS. DEPT. L.A.D.
AAH DUST COVER
Those stations now using AAH receivers in open control racks and other locations not well protecting the unit from dust, have received a dust cover that will provide proper protection.
This cover is simple to install, merely requiring slipping over the receiver from the back and fastening to the metal studs already on the receiver chassis with the machine screws provided.
Tests made on receivers fitted with these covers indicate no harmful temperature rise, or any detuning effects caused by the metal covering.
Receivers installed in cabinet racks end enclosed operator positions do not usually require this protection. If any station feels the need of one of these covers because of unusual circumstances, please advise giving full details.
VHF 601A TRANSMITTER PA TUBE
Tube Item V6 in the instruction book is listed as Type 829. This PA Tube has been superseded by the Type 3E29 Tube which has similar characteristics and is an improved version. When kit replacements for 829's are required the 3229 should be specified on the requisition under Part Number 9070-0151 (Old PAA Number 8197-5151).
829 Tubes still in stock should be used up before shifting to 3E29 operation.
