AUTOMATIC KEYS
There are three types or models of automatic keys presently in use, model AK, model AK-A, and model AK-3B with modification A. Models AK-A and AK-3B are electrically similar and provide for monitoring information at certain locations where this is desired. (See the 3C section of the Ground Radio Maintenance Manual). Present plans are to modify all model AK automatic keys to model AK-A keys in the Ground Radio Shop as they are returned for overhaul.
The following data is supplied for those of you who receive a different model key
from the one you are presently using:
1. To replace automatic key model AK-A or AK-3B with modification A (Dwgs. GEN-3C-1407 or GEN-3C-1476) with a model AK (Dwg. GEN-3C-28-3) mount the keyer and connect as shown below;

(a) Remove ac cord from present terminals and connect them to the moveable contacts on the start relay.
(b) Tape leads going to Kohler Selector Box and to ACA terminal No. 4 as they are not used. (Note that only continuous keying is now available).
2. To replace automatic key model AK (Dwg. GEN-3C-28-3) with a model AK-A or AK-3B with modification A (Dwg. GEN-3C-1407 or GEN-3C-1476) mount and connect as shown below;
