Luis J. Botifoll Oral History Project Interview with George Feldenkreis Miami Beach, Florida, February 8, 2012 Interview 5212.0077 Interviewed by Julio Estorino Recorded by Javier Carrion Outline by Julio Estorino and Amanda Moreno Interview with George Feldenkreis, the current Chairman and CEO of Perry Ellis International. A Cuban exile of Russian descent, Feldenkreis worked as an attorney before immigrating to the United States in 1961. He founded wholesale clothing company Supreme International six years later, eventually acquiring Perry Ellis International in 1999. Feldenkreis is actively engaged in various civic commitments in his capacity as a Trustee at the University of Miami and through his work with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and the United Way. He is the principal donor to The George Feldenkreis Program in Judaic Studies at the University of Miami. This interview forms part of the Luis J.
