GENERAL Richard K. Sutherland pins commendation medal on Lt. Sheppard N. Sloan at joint Army and Air Force ROTC review on the drill Held Wednesday. Four Korean veterans received decorations in conjunction with National Defense Week Photo by Bixler on campus at the drill ceremonies. General Sutherland was featured speaker for the event. The review marked the first time Army and Air Force units joined together for a parade. All award recipients are members of Miami area reserve military units. LEADING ACTORS in the Ring Theater’s third production, “The Lady's Not for Burning,” are left to right, Nelson Case Jr., Haline Urban and Dick Rust. Tickets arc on sale at the Ring Theater Box Office from 1 to 5 p.m. Price of admission is 50 cents for students and faculty. Drama instructor Ed Menerth is directing the presentation. -The Inside Story Story On Page 2 What They Are Saying . .. “A 59-pound dead bull’s head and a carton of 13 snowballs may not seem like the ideal Valentine greeting, but two UM freshmen coeds received these gifts this week.” See Feature Story on Page 5. “A long-needed movement is now underway to ease the congestion in the Slop Shop, with the first step directed toward fraternities.” See Editorial on Page 6. “Literature is beautiful, bold, bad and biased ... at least the literature that students read daily from the Slop Shop racks,” writes Brian Sheehan, Hurricane managing editor. “Slop Shop Sams and Suzies can be seen daily pouring through heaps of pocket editions in search of stirring stories about emotion, foreign intrigue and spine-tingling international adventure.” See Debris Column on Page 6. “The fiesta is planned to help foreign and American students become better acquainted,” says John Corrigan, NSA chairman, about international fiesta day tomorrow. See Story on Page 2. “Disappointment and success are synonymous in sports, and Miami basketball Coach Bruce Hale has had his share of both this season,” writes Seymour Beubis, Hurricane sports editor. See Column on Page 14. “The Student Expansion Committee of the SBG proposes to raise money for the Paul R. Yarck Memorial Fund by sponsoring UM Movie Week,” said Marty Levitan, chairman of the committee. The fund provides for long range plan of the construction and expansion of student activity facilities, which includes the building of a swimming pool and extension of the Student Club. See Story on Page 9. “Decrease in registration in the spring is characteristic of years past,” said one administration official about a dip in enrollment this semester. This is due to heavy mid-year graduation and the few new students who are graduated from high school in January. A 66-man deficit in the Evening Division from the fall semester showed up in the slight dropoff. See Story on Page 2. The 18-year-old drama major stands five-feet, six-inches tall and tips the scales at 112-pounds. If brown-haired, green-eyed Sharron will be in the Hurricane office at 3:30 this afternoon, Greg Melikov, Tempo editor, will pin her with an orchid.
