If you desire the comforts of your own living room, fly on one of Pan American’s luxury Boeing “Strato” Clippers . . . you have a choice of two services — “The President” or the extra fare “President Special.” You’ll relax in air-conditioned comfort in your large lounge chair which adjusts for reading or sleeping. There’s no extra charge for the delicious full-course meals, in-between snacks or cocktails. If you wish, wander down to the lower lounge to chat with your fellow passengers over refreshments—served to you by an attending steward who is there to see that your every wish is realized. GENERAL INFORMATION GÉNÉRAL - Cable charges incurred in the confirmation of European reservations will be for the account of the passenger. The prices quoted are approximate and are based on rates of exchange and tariffs in effect on day of printing—(October 1, 1952)—and, in case of any marked increase or decrease in the cost of operation, currencies or tariffs before final payment is made, the American Express Company reserves the right to alter the tour prices accordingly. The accommodations, services and rates specified herein are offered subject to the ability of the American Express Company to arrange and confirm them. The tours offered in this publication are based on flight schedules in effect at time of printing and are subject to the same schedules being in effect at the time of operation. DEPOSITS-An initial payment of 25 percent of the tour price protects an advanced reservation. Such deposits can be made through the agent or office from whom you receive this folder. Final payment is due at least two weeks before departure. TRAVEL FUNDS-Be sure to protect your travel funds by carrying American Express Travelers Cheques, which are sold by thousands of banks, by Railway Express Agency, Western Union offices and by many travel, railroad and steamship agents, and of course by American Express offices. They are available in denominations of $10, $20, $50 and $100. RESPONSIBILITY: The American Express Company acts only as agent for the steamship companies, railroads, owners or contractors providing means of transportation or other services, and all tickets and contracts of such steamship companies, railroads, owners and contractors are issued subject to any and all tariffs, terms and conditions under which such means of transportation or other services are offered or provided, and the issuance and acceptance of any such tickets and contracts shall be deemed to be consent to the further conditions: (a) That neither the American Express Company nor any of its subsidiary or affiliated companies shall be or become liable or responsible in any way in connection with such means of transportation or other services or for any loss, injury or damage to or in respect of any person or property howsoever caused or arising, and (b) That the tickets and/or contracts in use by any airline company, railroad, owner or contractor providing means of transportation or other services shall constitute the sole contract between such airline, railroad, owner or contractor and the purchaser of the tour and/or the tour member, and (c) Pan American World Airways System is not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event, during the time passengers are not on board their aircraft.
