GROUND RADIO BULLETIN NO. 59 - MARCH 16, 1955 COMMS. DEPT. L.A.D.
INTERPHONES (COMMUNO-PHONES)
There are presently models 12C, 19C, 219C, 25C, 12S end GRS-50 ohm interphones in use throughout the division. Each of these models require certain special parts, such as face plates, selector switches, different type tubes eto., which necessitates that all of these parts be stocked in inventory as well as spare parts kits.
In view of the above and other maintenance advantages to be gained, a long range program is underway to modify all units "to the GRS-50 ohm model (Ground Radio Maintenance Manual dwg. No. GEN-22B-1680).
This modification program will operate as follows:
1. Special parts for 12G, 19C 2190, 25C, and 12S models will no longer be stocked when the present stock is exhausted.
2. When one of these special parts is needed to repair a line station interphone the station will advise this office and a modified (GRS-50 Ohm) unit will be sent to the station.
Upon receipt and installation of the modified interphone the old unit will be returned to Miami where it will be modified and hold to replace another unmodified unit.
It is estimated that a three year period will be required to get all units converted to the standard GRS model.
