(Dr. Freundlich is director of the Lowe Art Museum and chairman, department of art at the UM.) “Liberalism in the New South: Southern Social Reformers and the Progressive Movement” by Hugh C. Bailey, 294 pp., illus., clothbound, $10; “A Guide to the Wilderness Waterway of the Everglades National Park” by William G. Truesdell, 64 pp., illus., charts, spiralbound, $2.50. M. Eugene Flipse. M.D., director, Student Health Center, has been reappointed as member of the Dade County Advisory Board of Health to serve for the term expiring October 5, 1972... The Miami Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership and scholarship honorary, has elected Dr, W. Ivan Hoy, chairman, religion, as faculty secretary, and Charles F. Tate, Jr.. M.D., associate professor of medicine, was named faculty adviser... Dr, Charles T. Mangrum II. educational psychology, education, and Dr. Richard L. Carner. education and director, Reading Clinic, have been appointed contributing editors to the Florida Reading Quarterly. Dr. Mangrum has been appointed editor of the Reading Aids Series, published by the International Reading Association... Dr, Raymond G. O’Connor, chairman, history, and Dr. Charlton W. Tebeau attended the Southern Historical Association meeting in Washington, Oct. 29-Nov. 1... Last month, Academic Press, Inc., N.Y.C., introduced the new Fourth Edition of “Toxicology of Drugs and Chemicals” by Dr. William B, Deichmann, pharmacology, and director of the research and teaching center of toxicology, south campus, and Dr. Horace W. Ger-arde, associate with NYU and Fair-leigh Dickinson University. The first edition of 158 pages published by UM Printing Arts Department in 1955 has grown to the present 805-page edition... Mrs. Renate S. Gimborvs. manager, UM Credit Union, attended a three-day User’s Conference and Workshop for a new On-Line-Real Time System at General Telephone & Electronics Services in Tampa... “William Tatham and the Culture of Tobacco” including a facsimile reprint of An Historical and Practical Essay on the Culture and Commerce of Tobacco by William Tatham. 506 pp., illus., clothbound, $10; “On Being Swedish: Reflections Towards a Better Understanding of the Swedish Character” by Paul Britten Austin, 182 pp., clothbound, $5.95. “The Colombian Entrepreneur in Bogota” (Hispanic-American Studies No. 22), by Aaron Lipman, 160 pp., tables, clothbound, $6.95.
