Meetings in the President’s Office, Ashe Building Informal luncheon meeting with members of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce in the Student Union Meetings in the President’s Office, Ashe Building Meeting with Dean Noble Hendrix, Student Personnel Deans and Directors, President’s Office, Ashe Building Meeting with student leaders group, Conference Room, President’s Office, Ashe Building Informal meeting with members of the Citizens Board and Council for the School of Medicine, Vizcaya Room, Columbus Hotel Dinner with Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, Columbus Hotel Meeting with the Faculty Council, University College Building Meeting with the Administrative Council, Conference Room, President’s Office, Ashe Building Meeting with Academic Deans Meeting with administrative officers, President’s Office, Ashe Bldg. Meeting with Alumni group, Faculty Lounge, Ashe Building EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE SETS POLICY The Executive Committee of UM’s Board of Trustees last FOR HANDLING OF UM INFORMATION week adopted a resolution designating the Office of Public Information as the official representative of the University in all areas of information except athletics, which will be handled by the athletic publicity office. Text of the resolution, effective immediately, follows: ’’WHEREAS, the University of Miami wishes to be represented in the public press and through other news media as a unified entity; and ’’WHEREAS, from time to time in the past certain students and employees of the University have seen fit to send copies of official and unofficial correspondence, as well as to insert news articles of their own creation in the above media; and ’’WHEREAS, such procedure is not believed to be in the best interest of the University of Miami; be it therefore ’’RESOLVED, That this Board designates the Office of Public Information as the official representative of the University in all areas of information except athletics, which will be handled by the athletic publicity office. Employees and students, or others directly associated with the University, who see fit to prepare news articles or to transmit official or unofficial items of correspondence relative to the University of Miami through means other than that of the Office of Public Information will be considered to be in violation of proper University procedure and academic protocol and will be subject to permanent dismissal or such action as the President and Board of Trustees may determine to be proper.”
