ALAN BOYD, Miami lawyer, will be guest speaker at the Past Presidents' Banquet during Homecoming Week. The hanquet, which will bring back many SBG presidents to greet the student body, will held Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Cafeteria. The Past Presidents’ Banquet is one of the annual features of the Homecoming celebration. “Being a Georgia Cracker, I had no difficulty in speaking to these people. Occasionally however, when I asked them for photographs they would become suspicious, until I had explained my purpose,” says Dr. Charlton Tebeau about his recent book in a Page 12 story. “Loneliness abounds on this campus like an epidemic of the Asian Flu. Each person is off in his own private world. Oh, sure we know lots of faces . . . but how difficult it is to remember their names,” says Alan Caruba in a letter to the editor on Page 6. “There is plenty of parking space for those who will look for it and are willing to walk a little,” says Dean Noble Hendrix in a Page 8 Story. GUSTAFSON “We’ll see the ball in the air some tonight,” says Head Football Coach Andy Gustafson. See story on Page 16. “The compulsory student health-insurance plan, long the subject of a deluge of discontented rumblings, is again being observed critically as a new program swings into its first year.” See editorial on Page 6. “If the student body rallies and the attendance increases Coach Bruce Hale makes true his predictions, we will have crossed the first big hurdle in acquiring a basketball field house for the UM ctigers,” says John Garcia, Hurricane sports editor, in his column on Page 15. “This clinic is designed to acquaint organizations with proper procedures to be followed in getting stories in The Miami Hurricane, l’empo magazine and downtown papers as well as to explain methods of having more effective pages in Ibis,” says SDX President Fred Porter on Page 2.
