The quartet includes from right to left, John Hitter, flutist and dean of the School of Music; Jeffery Stoll, pianist and chairman of the UM Piano Department; Victor Stem, violist and Photo by Bixlrr instructor of viola; and Eugene Dubois, violinist and concert master of the UM Symphony Orchestra. A capacity crowd viewed the performance which was hailed by critics as one of the best in years. Concluding feature was “Trio Sonata—from the Musical Offering" for flute, violin and piano by Bach. The next concert is set for Nov. IS. *3 k jfl STUDENTS FLOCK to Student Club breezeway to buy their copy of the Student Directory. Buying copies Wednesday, the first day of sales, are: (left to right) Connie Green, Ronnie Kantor. Marlene Solar. Van Seplow, Ronnie Gilbert, Joel Miller, Howard Rosenberg and Stan Kolodny. The dink-headed saleswomen are Arlene Cohen and Eileen Rosenherg. Only 2,500 copies of the directory were printed. Photo by Bix let Each sells for 25 cents. Other distribution points at UM are located in the Snake Pit and on North Campus. Directory listings include names, local and home addresses and local telephone numbers of every student at the University. There is a special section for faculty addresses and home phones. Inter-office phone extensions for UM are also listed. Jack Plumb was editor. ------The Inside Story-------------------------------- What They Are Saying . . . “Why can men with their bony, hairy legs go around campus in colorful Bermudas while the more shapely, cosmopolitan misses aren’t allowed to wear them?” is the question raised by coeds on campus. See story on Page 5. “Eaton Hall is the home of the residents in it,” said Dr. H. Franklin Williams, dean of students and vice-president of the UM, as a number of new rules regarding visitors to the residence hall went into effect today. See Story on Page 3. “I wouldn’t trade him for any fullback in the country,” said backfield coach Perry Moss about Don Bosseler, All-America prospect. See Sports Feature on Page 15. “I made my first appearance on television in a guest capacity,” said Dr. Donald Larson, chairman of the Government Department, “and ever since then I’ve been a regular.” See feature on Page 8. “The Hurricane, as the main voice of the student body, felt that it would be remiss in its duties, were it to ignore the smoke of restlessness that portended a fire of strong opposition to the (Compulsory Health Insurance) plan.” See Editorial on Page 6. Photo by ttultr ALL BOOKED UP this week, is pretty Ellen O'Donnell, Hurricane Honey No. 3. A native of Coral Gables, this lovely blue-eyed freshman is the Florida state sweetheart of DeMolay. If this five-foot, seven-inch beauty will come down to the field tonight between halves of the Mississippi State-UM game, Gary Miller, Tempo managing editor, will pin her with the traditional orchid.
