Please extend my sincere warm wishes for a happy holiday to every member of your family. I hope 1974 will be a rewarding year for each and every one of you. Art Best BEING KIND TO TRAVEL AGENTS WORLDPORT NEW NAME FOR UTB Pan Am's "Be Kind to Travel Agents" program received a new twist in the White Plains DSO. HPN has begun a "Travel Agent of the Week" porgram. They provide their Preferred Handling Agency Telephone Sales Bay in the PAB with a short history of a particular agency. By highlighting an agency for 1 week, the 10 Agency Specialists in the HPN Bay will become more knowledgeable about the agent, his past value and future potential. The honored travel agent is invited to visit the reservations facilities and is escorted by JANE NOLAN, Super. HPN Bay, on a short tour of the other support units - Rate, Tour, Group Desks and TOURPAK. The agent is then invited to lunch at the Copter Club. To date, HPN has named 20 Travel Agents of the Week. The old designation Unit Terminal Building (UTB) is no more. The Pan Am terminal at JFK is now officially known as Pan Am's Worldport. The new name was introduced at a formal dedication luncheon hosted by Chairman Seawell on December 5. The affair was attended by 200 distinguished guests including U.S. and foreign diplomats, political, business and labor leaders and members of the press. That same evening, travel agents from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, our interline friends and officials from the various government agencies were invited to view the terminal and enjoy a buffet dinner.
