Two 727s to Air Vietnam Volume 28 January 1, 1968 No. 1 Jet Clippers Make 101stAuto-landing On German Routes BERLIN — Pan American Jet Clippers have made automatic landings routine in Germany. The 101st automatic landing was made on Dec. 19, 1967, by a Boeing 727 Clipper carrying 100 passengers on a regularly scheduled flight from Berlin to Frankfurt/M ain Airport. Besides the now-routine automatic landings in Germany. Pan American Clippers c a rry in g p a sse n g e rs have touched down automatically in New York and London. Clipper Flight 681 landed smoothly at Frankfurt during a heavy snowstorm at 7:55 a.m. on Dec. 19. When the three-engine 727 rolled to a stop, Capt. Bradley Flierl announced to the passengers their participation in exceeding the 100-landing mark. The same Jet Clipper had touched down automatically 90 other times at Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover and Munich, as well as having done so previously at Frankfurt. Capt. Flierl’s crew on Flight 681 was First Officer F. D. Sprinkle, Flight Engineer C. F. Cavallaro and Stewardesses Almut Flentje, Roswitha Schlingensiepen and Sabine Wallas. Capt. J. D.
