We did not get the new planes,but we did acquire the know-how of their operation and maintenance which became the imponderable equivalent of an entire new (Continued on Page 6 ) 1 Transpacific’s Fourth War Loan Drive got off to a promising start January 18,every move being closely synchronized with the Northern California campaign. Herman Gentry, Chairman of the Drive, had laid his plans with care and precision. Gentry conferred with Drive executives in San Francisco a full week ahead of time and got the story of their plans. He then moved for the appointment of carefully picked Departmental committees. A pre-Drive Meeting of committeemen was held in the Conference Room of the Administration Building Monday, January 17, one day ahead of the official opening of the Drive. Addresses were delivered by Gentry, by Assistant Director Robert P.Etienne of the Payroll Savings Committee of Northern California,Divi-—• ~ (Continued on Page g) TOTALLY AT WAR UNTIL VICTORY
