Pah Ajllrlca/v World Airways Read From California To Calcutta, From Alaska To Australasia Voi. 10 No. 25 PUBLISHED BY THE EMPLOYEES OF PAN AMERICAN WORLD AIRWAYS December 13, 1954 * Season’s A— 50W/I"»' — ^ * As another Christmas comes round, I wish to extend the Greetings to the 16,000 members of the Pan American family. Again in 1954, we can look back on a record year. Our vigorous sales program has brought foreign travel to many thousands more people than ever before. Again ive have carried more mail and cargo than in any previous year. While continuing to serve our nation’s defense needs in many parts of the globe, we have this year assumed important new responsibilities to the Air Force’s Guided Missile program. We can look forward with confidence to 1955. Next Spring we will be adding to our fleet the newest long-range DC-7Bs. These, in turn, will be followed by the DC-7C capable of nonstop flights both ways over major ocean routes to again confirm Pan American’s technical leadership in aviation. Behind the progress we have made has been the ever inspiring spirit of co-operation on the part of our entire Pan American family. With this spirit, / am confident that we will all move forward in the New Year to even greater achievements. <? Once again it is a pleasure to extend year-end greetings to each of you in the Pacific-Alaska Division, and to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. During this season of the year when peace and good will are uppermost in our minds, and, unfortunately, when there still remains doubt as to the genuineness of peaceful pursuits in far-off lands, it is with a humble spirit of pride that we wish the whole world could more closely observe the character and make-up of Pan American World Airways’ far-flung organization—one in which peoples of many nations and many faiths work harmoniously together throughout the whole of the World. It provides an example of the accomplishments which can be realized, at whatever level of authority, when constructive endeavor, sincerity of purpose, and free enterprise, are the dominating influences. It is the American way. It is leadership. It is Pan American, a Company with which we all may well be proud to be associated. Again, may I wish each of you a happy holiday season, and the blessing of a peaceful and prosperous New Year. As another year in the history of the Pacific-Alaska Divsion draws to a close, it is with genuine sincerity that I thank each of you for the untiring, co-operative efforts that have made our achievements possible. For each of you and your loved ones, I wish a Merry Christmas and the Happy, Prosperous New Year you so richly deserve. * ¥t
