Musick, P an A m erican Chief Pilot, sent the four-engined flying boat four tim es over a course of 311 miles w hich included M an h at ta n ’s riv e r fro n t, Long Island Sound and the A tlan tic Ocean, it w as evident th a t history w as being w ritte n fo r A m er ican aviation. He had fuel enough fo r ano th er lap w hen he landed. The m arg in of range, w ith a m ail load, for any of th e ocean tra d e routes, A tlantic or Pacific, by w ay of the islands, had been am ply proved.
