r Monthly Operational Bulletin To: All Pan Am Flight Attendants From: In-Flight Service Headquarters - MIA VOLUME XVI, Issue 5 May 1986 Dear Fellow Employees: One subject, consistently identified as an area of major concern by Flight Attendants over the years, is the necessity to find a more convenient, efficient, and cost effective way in which you can communicate with Crew Scheduling. This objective is shared by your In-Flight Services management. During the past two years, a project group in the Crew Scheduling organization has been at work examining ways in which we can achieve the improvements we both desire. The technology has existed to modernize our methods and, quite frankly, we have not been as aggressive as we should have been in moving forward in this area. Approximately two weeks ago it was my pleasure to announce the introduction of the Pan Am Crew Information Center; the first phase in a total program which is planned to provide you with the kind of communication system you deserve and which will favorably compare with systems other carriers already use or plan to introduce in the near future. Specific information concerning access to and use of the Pan Am Crew Information Center is posted at all bases and has also been provided on the cover letter of the June bidlines. Future phases of the program, which are planned for introduction later this year, will be announced as soon as we are able to confirm the performance reliability of systems and hardware upon which we must rely. Until then, you have my assurance that we will continue to expend maximum effort towards implementing an improved system which will make our operation easier and less expensive. As we move along in 1986,1 invite you to continue to submit your constructive comments and criticisms. Although not every idea we receive may be practical to implement, every idea will be accorded consideration. In that way, we can build systems and programs which will serve us well today and in the years ahead. J. Robert Juliano [_ HSÖ 34i, f\cc \ / ïjoY- / 3/ r d{-
