The Board asked for a detailed report on the airline*s requirements for foreign equipment. It is hoped that this report will be available for submission to the Aircraft Production Board by the middle of April. This fellows the agreement reached some weeks ago with the. Army on its requirements, and the decision to move ahead with the original DC-6 program. (American Aviation Daily - April 4, 1945) ’iv , AFRICA-ORIENT AVERAGES TEN FLIGHTS DAILY Pan American Africa-Orient Division now averages ten flights daily and more than a million miles a month from bases in New York and Miami. A total of 89,498 passengers were flown overseas by the Africa-Orient Division from November, 1942 through January, 1945, and 23,431,705 pounds of express, 7,135,100 pounds of mail were carried.
