MAKES vACiFlC noU'i'E rvEOuriiivxENnA'fiON Public Counsel, in a report fired late yesterday -afternoon in the Pacific Case, recommended to the Civil Aeronautics Board that TWA be certificated for a route from Chicago to Asia, via the Kurile Islands if it is net ¿ranted a route across the North Atlantic, In case that it receives the North A tlantic route, then Public Counsel recommends that the pacific route be awarded to Northwest Airlines, Inc. !j ■ • iX* f * 1 - *' ■ ■ •• y* v ;' , • . • The complete recommendations follow: ”1. That an air route be authorised over the North Pacific to Asia through the Chicago gateway from such terminal or terminals in the United States as the Board shall see fit, that said r ute shall term.nate at Ma niia, P.l., with intermediate stops at St. Paul-Minneapoiis, Minnesota; Anchorage, Alaska; Parmushiro, Duriie islands; Tokyo, Japan; Shanghai, China and Hong Kong (or Canton), China ; ”2. That. TWA be selected as the carrier to fly said route unless TWA is awarded a route over the North Atlantic in which event we recommend the choice of North-west over PCA." "3.- That Pan American's certificate of convenience and necessity for its existing Central Pacific route- be amended so to authorise extensions of its said route as follows: (l) from Honolulu to 'wake Island, by-passing Miday Island; (2 ) from Midway Island to Tokyo, Japan, (3) from Tokyo, Japan to Shanghai, China; and (4) from Shanghai, China to Hong Kong (.or Canton), China; "4. That Pan A merican's certificate of convenience and necessity for its .existing South Pacific r ute be amended so ..s to authorize an extension of said routes from Noumea, New Caledonia, to Sydney, Australia; . - • • ' - "5. That Alaska Air Lines, Inc. be awarded a certificate of convenience and necessity for a route from Seattle, Washington, to Anchorage, Alaska; subject, however, to the restriction that it shall serve no local traffic between Anchorage and Juneau, or between Kitchikan and Juneau, Alaska, and that it may stop at any of said points oniy to pick up or discharge passengers originating at or bound for Seattle."
