NEWS BRIEFS AEROSPACE SERVICES DIVISION SAFETY THOUGHT OF THE WEEK Those extra minutes you may spend in obeying safety rules may save you a lifetime. SURFSIDE PLAYERS .PRESENT COMEDY The Surfside Players of Cocoa Beach will present the final performances of the hilarious Neil Simon comedy "The Odd Couple" on Friday and Satruday evenings, June 21 and 22, and on Saturday, June 29- Call 783-3013 for ticket reservations. REDISTRIBUTION AND MARKETING There will be a local Spot Bid Sale held at Redistribution and Marketing, Bldg. 1391, Patrick Air Force Base on 27 June 1968. Sales items will be open for inspection 0830-1500 hours Monday through Friday. Registration will begin at 0700 hours on the sale date and the sale will begin at 0830 hours. HOW MUCH IS A BILLION DOLLARS? A mathematician has computed how much a billion dollars really means. If you stood over a giant hole and dropped a $20 bill into the hole every minute, it would take 95 years to drop a billion dollars. It's a lot easier to drop $200 or $300 by unwise buying. TENNIS NEWS The Pan Am-RCA Tennis Club beat Grumman 6-3 on June 8 at the Cocoa Beach Courts. Highlight of the match was the win by Pan Am's Pat Miller and Dot Henderson. Pat and Dot played doubles together and beat Messrs. Legeckis and Fitzgerald. Eight sportsmanship trophies were awarded at the Daily Times Junior Tournament in Melbourne on 26 May. The trophies were engraved "Pan Am-RCA Tennis Club" and were purchased with funds donated by Pan Am. TRAVEL CLUB MEETS 12 JULY The Pan Am World Travelers will meet at the Cape Colony July 12. This is a one time temporary change from the normal first Friday of the month because of the July 4th weekend. Come to hear a "whale of a tale" by Max Minear and to see unusual scenery. He will take you to Iceland an emerging new tourist attraction. It's warmer than you think there and loaded with geysers and glaciers. The whaling industry is something you would like to learn about and won't want to miss. All welcome. Arrive by 8:30 for a new adventure or earlier for coffee and travel talk. GOING MY WAY 1.
