GRANT BUTLER MANAGEMENT CLUB SPEAKER Returning from an extensive lecture tour of Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, and Manila, Grant C. Butler, Director of International Lectures for Pan American World Airways, will speak on Monday 18 November 1968 to the Pan Am Management Club at the Cape Kennedy Hilton. During his combined news-gathering and lecture tour, Butler spoke to Rotary clubs and civic groups in Honolulu, Auckland, Sydney, Australia and New Zealand and traveled extensively throughout the islands of the South Pacific. One of America's top lecturers on international affairs, Butler was a former combat radio reporter with the U. S. Ninth Air Force in France and Germany in World War II. He received a commission from the University of Florida and was educated at Northwestern and UCLA. He is a Major in the Air Force Reserve. Butler's articles and short stories on the Middle East have appeared in national magazines and newspapers in the United States and Europe. He has won several awards for his lecturing and reporting. His books, KINGS AND CAMELS and BEYOND ARABIAN SANDS received merit citations from the American Academy of Political Affairs. IEEE - ISA CONVENTION The 7th Annual Region III - IEEE - Canaveral Section - ISA Convention will be held in Cocoa Beach, Florida on November 18, 19, 20, 1968. The Convention will include technical sessions, seminars, exhibits, ladies program, tours, IEEE International Board of Directors Meeting, and Missile, Space & Range Pioneers Meeting. General Chairman of the Convention is G. Denton Clark, RCA Missile Test Project Director at Patrick Air Force Base. Technical Sessions will be held at the Quality Courts and Ramada Inn Motels. Session subjects include: (Monday) - Advanced Technologies, Undersea Technology, Space Electronics, Telemetry; (Tuesday) - Education, Power, Management, Micro-Electronics; (Wednesday) - Applications of Analytical Techniques, Telephony, Antennas, and Computers. Fifty-eight papers will be presented. Four seminars will be held on the topics of: Electrical Protective Devices, Integrated Circuits and Their Incorporation Into Equipment, Programming for Electrical Engineers, and Problem Solving for Electrical Engineers Using Time Shared Computers. RETIREMENT Howard R. Brock retired downrange 1 November 1968. He was for nine years, Chief Mechanic at Antigua. He resides at 2516 King Richard Road, Eau Gallie, Florida.
