Vice Presidents David S. Ingalls, John C. Leslie, Andre A. Priester, V. E. Chenea, James H. Smith, Jr., and Thomas E. Wolfe all participated in the discussions. Others taking part included Comptroller J. S. Woodbridge; Division Manager Robert L. Cummings, Jr.; Captain Harold E. Gray, assistant Division manager; Captain C. S. Vaughn, superintendent of flight operations, and Captain Hugh H. Gordon, chief pilot. Also, C. M. Tyner of the internal auditing section, and Charles Flynn of the tax section, both from New York; Paul M. Strieffler, administrative assistant; William H. Lyons, assistant to the Division manager; Frank H. Hankins, Jr., operations manager; Phil S. Delany, traffic manager; George H. Lyon, public relations manager; F. C. Ruegg, field superintendent; John C. Ward, industrial relations manager; Elroy Scrivener, advertising manager; Lauri E. Wickeri, Division accountant; John D. Mooney, legal officer. Among the regional managers in attendance were Captain George A. Doole, Balkans and Middle East; J. Fife Symington, Middle Atlantic, and John E. Yerxa, New England. The district managers included: Sylvester J. Roll, Scandinavia; T. A. Rice, United Kingdom and Eire; A. Jackson Kelly, Western Europe; Richard C. Long, Iberian Peninsula; H. R. Canaday, Africa. Others attending one or more of the sessions included: James W. Hyde, assistant to the field superintendent; Donald N. Anderson, station manager, NBA; O. F. Johnson, Atlantic sales manager; James 0. Leet, station manager, Gander;. W. R. Keagle, supply manager; H. W. Proulx, budget officer; F. A. Cardman, insurance officer; W. B. Tobey, clearance assistant; Henry H. Elliott, field department; G. L. Gow, airport superintendent, and Captain J. H. Mack. The largest international shipment of radios — 16,000 pounds — was flown from New York to Colombia, South America, December 4 in a chartered DC-4 of AVIANCA, a PAA affiliate. The radios, 1,174 in number, wejre in flight for 15 hours. Transportation by ship takes 11 days to inland Bogota, the Colombian capital. Photography Club Sponsors Contest The Pan American Photography Club, which welcomes to its membership camera fans of every degree of skill and experience, announces a photography contest to be held between January 15-30. Any black and white print, in any size and on any subject, is eligible to be entered in this contest. If the winner is a girl, the prize will be two pairs of nylons. If a man wins top honors, he will receive a white shirt. There will be an entrance fee of 10 cents for each print submitted and the winner must have the negative of the picture in his possession. The winner will be announced early in February. The PAA Photography Club, long in existence, is stirring to new activity with plans for setting up a dark room with an enlarger and developing tanks for roll and cut film. The club already has many able photographers in its ranks, including Guy Storer, modifications foreman, president; Gill Tyler, industrial safety supervisor, secretary; Inspector Roy James; Sal Riccobono, Joe Lakner, and Charlie Villa of modifications; Paul Friend of photo; Elmer Harris of the mailroom, and Gloria Conen of drafting. For advanced amateurs, a series of contests is planned next year, with prizes awarded in four classes — human interest, pictorial, action, and picture story. Trips with professional models as subjects are scheduled for next spring. Box camera artists as well as devotees of the candid camera and the press type camera are invited to join the club now. Gil Tyler on Ext. 307 or 559 will answer all queries. Santa Claus Will Fly To Children’s Party One hundred and sixty-five hoys and girls between the ages of 3 and 10 are looking forward to the Christmas Party for the children of PAA employes, to be held Saturday, December 21, at 3 p.m. in the North Beach cafeteria. Santa Claus, arriving by plane, is due to fly in at 3 to distribute gifts to all the small fry. An entertainment will follow, so if yoq’re over 10 don’t count on using the cafeteria Saturday afternoon. Janet Carey, secretary of the PanAm Club which is in charge of arrangements for the party, is general chairman of the affair. Ernest Mitchell of the engine shop heads the entertainment committee, made up of Bob Edwards, Bob Grandin, John Anziano, Benny Gallaso, Albert Parker, Joe Kubik, Jimmy Vance and Dan Kennedy. The gifts committee, responsible for the purchase of 165 presents, is headed by Helen Mullady of the medical department, assisted by Jane Fiester, Sally Kenna and the entire medical staff. The decorations, already filling the cafeteria with holiday cheer, were put up under the supervision of Isabel Sullivan of personnel, assisted by Eileen Lanigan, Des Murphy, Rosemary Sullivan, Hank Towers, Suzanne Rudinger, Murray Marshall, Ruth Auchincloss and Bob Davidson. Refreshments, second in importance only to Santa Claus in the eyes of the guests of honor, are being arranged by Mary Darmstadt of the commissary, with the assistance of Anna Hashe, Kathleen Gildea, and Madeline Bredihoft.
