The University of Miami's student newspaper, The Miami Hurricane, has been published continuously from 1927. The paper is edited and produced by undergraduate students in journalism and published bi-weekly during the regular academic year. It was published under the title University News from 1927 to 1929, and the first issue of The Miami Hurricane was published in October 1929. The student newspaper represents an important historical record of campus life and student activity, and it is one of the most frequently researched collection at the University Archives.

The University Archives serves as the University's repository for this award-winning newspaper, which is now available online from 1927 to April 2012 . The full-text content can be browsed by issue date or researched by keyword. The Miami Hurricane newspaper online is not available for: 1934, 1935, 1936, 1963, Spring 2005, Spring 2006, and Spring 2011.
