IBIS, the University of Miami’s yearbook, has been published annually since 1927. It’s one of the most frequently researched resources at the University Archives by the university’s alumni and their friends and families. Also, it’s a historical record of enduring value for research on subjects, such as campus life, student activities, and academic year highlights of the university in the past.
The University of Miami Libraries has digitized the oldest portion of the publication, from 1927 to 1959, to enhance access to this important resource while preserving the rare existing old volumes of the yearbooks. The digitization was an inter-departmental project among the University Archives, the Digital Production Lab, Cataloging & Metadata Services, and Web & Application Development at the Otto G. Richter Library.
